It could be Paradise.

Today looked like rain as the dark clouds started to move across the sky`s. It is difficult to have faith in the justice system when certain people get charges dropped so they can become president. Luckily this photo bellow is transparent.

This wasn`t taken until 07.15 as the Sun doesn`t come over the mountains as early as it does in Summer, when it comes up over the sea.

After eating breakfast our feral cat now graces us by sitting next to the birdbath and watching us have our first coffee of the day.

This was the sunrise yesterday when the were no rain clouds around.

We drove up to the farm later and only left as the sun went down. This was not so colorful as at the flat, but I was probably a bit late for a good show. Maybe the view would be much better at Nkandla. 🙂

Going back in Time.

When Mike and Nevile Bramley were the leading lights in the `Hells Angels` in Jo`berg. Mike had a customizing. shop and Nevile had the `Pink panther`. Mike had a bike that he made himself that was used on the `Rainbow Strip` and it was the fastest thing around. There was a photo of it on an earlier blog.

This belonged to a new member who hadn`t got his colors yet.
What brought this on was being in town today and seeing the wake of one of our local bikers who had been with the Mak`s for many years. It was quite a turnout and even the main street was blocked off by the local police. I`ve put a few photos on the blog but the rest are on Facebook. I tried to make an album but not being very knowledgeable in Facebook it didn`t work. There is still about 30 photos of the event on my page. Keith William

I used to drive around the Dam every weekend and very often would find a lot of `Hells Angels` out on their weekend drive. Although not a member I was accepted and had many interesting coffee breaks.I still remember the `Viking` as he wore a hemet with horns on it.

Facebook, Potholes and other moans.

We have just got another power outage so i`m using my laptop as the battery is still full 🙂

Why is it that sometimes when you try to comment on a page it`s made so difficult. With likes I usually thank them on their page as mostly their email account doesn`t work. Very few have ever replied if they do get through. Sending emails to people who comment is very rewarding and  it`s easier to send info that you don`t want on your blog. I never go on `Facebook` so that`s why I don`t get too many `friends`. My oldest Daughter is into` Facebook` every day that it`s like a drug. Personally I think it`s strange that they spend so much time writing about their lives and situations, that there isn`t much time for living in the real world. I suppose some people would say that about blogging but at least that doesn`t take all day 🙂

We seem to have quite a problem with potholes, but they  are a world phenomena. Every country has them, it`s just some have an ongoing system of repair. Unfortunately this falls under maintenance and governments don`t like to spend money on other people, basically the tax payer 🙂

Since the price of petrol went up there has been an increase in the sales of motorbikes. They carry more people , cost less to run, easier to park and it keeps the family together 🙂

Not much on the go today.

I think I will start of as usual with today`s sunrise and then progress to other subjects. This was taken with an old Alcatel because I was curious as to how the colour would come out.

In between the rain we went to the lookout which is one of the highest points in town. You can see most of the Plettenberg coastline from here. Where the Hotel is now there used to be a whaling station and the spot where the (a) is one the right hand side was made into a desalinization plant a few  years ago. The input pipe is on the beach on the far right, it only provides a very small part of our water needs as most comes from the river.

The Robberg peninsular is now a nature reserve and at it`s base near the left hand side the is a very large colony of Cape Fur Seals. I have also photographed a Caracul near the dip in the center but only the once, they are usually very shy.

This beach looks much better in the sunset.

What a glorious Day.

Today has started off with a brilliant sunrise and the sun is now very warm. Having got through the usual coffee, cigarette and breakfast it`s time to plan the day. My Wife`s idea is that you should plan the day before it starts but I like a bit of relax time first.

Sitting here today I started to think of a trip I made to Maidstone in the UK a few years ago. This cannon stands in the high Street and used to be very close to `Shawn the Sheep`. This sheep was made of hanging baskets on a wire frame and was maintained by a local flower nursery and was very colorful. It was not there last year and neither was the snow 🙂

Below is an animation that I took with a time lapse setting on the camera. They have another boat called the `Dolphin` which is used for small groups to study Dolphins.

The Whale is breaching, it jumps out of the water and lands on it`s back which is hard to see in this clip.

Fully loaded and pushed into the sea by a tractor.

The launching is sometimes  a little rough depending on rouge waves and the wind.

In the background you can see the other boat beyond the Orca. Due to the regulations now only one boat from a company can launch  at the same time.

This was taken from `Dolphin`, of a  Dolphin. It`s a shame but my daughter is selling the company in June so i wont get free trips anymore. I think there are as many photos of sea creatures on my computer as there are sunrises, a lot have never been put on my blog. I hope you enjoyed the photos. Leo

Laugh at life ?

Have you ever thought your glasses need changing?   I went to the opticians the other day with my Wife and found out that i have worse cataracts than she has. Anyway I got these glasses before my last driving licence application. I thought that it would get mine updated but  I was told that my glasses were OK. I don’t feel like going to a hospital for cataract removals as don`t have a good opinion of the medical service, even private hospitals don`t have a terribly high scale of fees.  That`s the problem for all of us with a small fixed income, no medical aid and no discount.

That`s sorted my glasses 🙂  now what`s my Wife going to say when she gets her`s.

You know you’re getting older when…

Everything that works hurts, and what doesn’t hurt doesn’t work.

You feel like the morning after, and you haven’t been anywhere.

Your little black book only contains names ending in M.D.

Your children are beginning to look middle-aged.

Your mind makes contracts your body can’t keep.

You look forward to a dull evening.

Your knees buckle and your belt won’t.

Your back goes out more than you do.

You sink your teeth into a steak, and they stay there.

You know all the answers, but nobody asks the questions.

You look into the mirror and see a parent looking at you, it`s just you catching up.

I read in a survey that these pictures cause people to stereo type old age.

I`ve just discovered I must have missed that part of old age.

This was sent by email, it was all made out of vegetables .

You can only laugh at life,  enjoy your weekend and make the most of your time.

This happens to me every time I go to sort my workshop.
