This is one of the trees in the parking lot near Agri in Plett.  It looks like one tree sitting in the cleft of a bigger tree.   I saw it when I went to pick up my Grand kids from their school bus.

Does anyone know what tree this is ?

I don`t know if it is a natural phenomenon or one tree growing on the other. maybe it`s a type of parasite like the Mistletoe.

Just be very careful there because a driving school  uses it for lessons.  They don`t seem to have any brakes on their lorries and drive with three in the cab.

See last blog for more info.

This was taken from one of my old MS Publisher files, until I can unpack the originals.   All these photo`s have been investigated by NICAP in the USA along with several others that I want to put on my next blog.   This entire publisher file was sent to SAUFO in Cape Town and was used in one of their lectures.   I will also put my return letters on my blog for any comments .   I am not an ardent UFO searcher but I am interested in all mysterious happenings.   Although these photo`s were taken a long time ago I have still been asked for circuit diagrams for UFO detectors by SAUFO and others.              Email: plett.radio@gmail.com

If anyone has and  interest in these and other photo`s and would like copies just email me.  I must stress that I don`t believe in little green men only on unusual happenings in the sky.

I used the method explained in my last blog to transfer this to whitewolf.iblog.co.za”

Just click on the Hyperlink above.

These are some of the Cats that pop in for a meal after they have eaten elsewhere.

This is the clumsiest Cat I have met.He has broken many plates, cups and glasses over the last few months as he always tries to walk across the draining rack. We now have to keep the doors and windows closed while washing up. 🙂

Tabitha is more of a regular and very well behaved but has to be invited to eat and drink.

Milo is very aloof and is an infrequent visitor who doesn`t eat much since his recovery from a case of tick bite fever.

We had a bit of bullying but the Ginger Tom took off to places unknown after he was caught in the act.

But if you want your cats and other pets to last forever then you must do what the Egyptians did. They embalmed them, even your gold fish was not exempt. 🙂

I took this in the Egyptology part of the British Museum, with a cell phone. It was a very interesting place but they would rather you buy a postcard than photograph the items.

Future Note.

After writing this blog I realise that I also have some photo`s taken in the mid 60`s at Jo`berg International Airport.  I also found some photo`s of strange lights in the sky over Plumstead in the Cape during the early to mid 70`s. They would probably make a fill in blog.  I tried to get them published but the newspaper at the time said that the  CISR refused to let them publish and confiscated the photo`s and negatives I lent them.  Luckily they were only copies of the negatives. Although I dont believe in little green men i did send the info tho NICAP and allow   SAUFO to use them in a lecture in Cape Town a few years ago.

Today I must go to the Wolf Sanctuary as I must go and see Alice and take her some Apples.  I am hoping that she has behaved herself during her oestrus better than she did at the farm. She used to chase the workers making a bellowing sound, whether it was the gumboots or the squeaky wheels of the wheel barrow I don`t know.  When I scratched behind her ear she would lay on her side and I would have to brush her, she was then very good for a few hours.   After that I had to got through the motions again. she was beginning to loose a lot of her long hair which I was not sure whether it was just her winter coat moulting or stress.   last time I saw her she was getting on fine with her adopted piglets. Although she was high maintenance I still miss her very much although I was just her custodian.

I was told not to spend so much time with the pig or I may become one. 🙂

Back to the Past.

sterling lines1958a

I even found a photo from 1959 in the UK, when I was at Sterling Lines, living in a wooden Army hut. As you can see in the back ground we were still issued with the Lee Enfield 303 rifles with the screwdriver bayonet.  A few weeks later we were issued with the FN SLR (R1) but only for exercises and target practice. They had a tenancy of loosing the flash eliminator due to breakage and are now replaced with a shorter SA80 assault rifle.

Just a few old Jokes

This is used a lot in the UK and usually means you know nothing about anything.
For some time many of us have wondered just who is
Jack Schitt?
We find ourselves at a loss when someone says,
‘You don’t know Jack Schitt’!
Well, thanks to my genealogy efforts, you can now
respond in an intellectual way.
Jack Schitt is the only son of Awe Schitt. Awe Schitt,
the fertilizer magnate,
who married O. Schitt, the owner of Needeep N. Schitt, Inc.
They had one son, Jack.
In turn, Jack Schitt married Noe Schitt. The deeply religious
couple produced six children: Holie Schitt, Giva Schitt,
Fulla Schitt, Bull Schitt, and the twins Deep Schitt
and Dip Schitt.
Against her parents’ objections, Deep Schitt married
Dumb Schitt, a high school dropout.
After being married 15 years, Jack and Noe Schitt
divorced. Noe Schitt later married Ted Sherlock,
and because her kids were livingwith them, she wanted to keep her previous name.
She was then known as Noe Schitt Sherlock.
Meanwhile, Dip Schitt married Loda Schitt, and they
produced a son with a rather nervous disposition
named Chicken Schitt. Two of the other six children,
Fulla Schitt and Giva Schitt, were inseparable
throughout childhood and subsequently married
the Happens brothers in a dual ceremony.
The wedding announcement in the newspaper
announced the Schitt-Happensnuptials.
The Schitt-Happens children were Dawg,
Byrd, and Horse.Bull Schitt, the prodigal son,
left home to tour the world.
He recently returned
from Italy with his new Italian bride, Pisa Schitt.
Now when someone says, ‘You don’t know Jack Schitt’,
you can correct them.

Method of making Animated Header.

I just got 4 random pictures and made 4 jpg frames of 760X151 headers as shown below.

These pictures were then put into Animation Shop, one at a time, which is part of Paintshop Pro.

This is saved as a gif file from Animation Shop. The time scale can be set before saving, this one was set at 320. That is 320 X 1/100 th`s of a second for each frame.

When working as a header the pictures move from left to right on the screen. So the beach scene will become the first picture and so on continuously. Click on the header above, or here to see the original animated header.             This may be a bit slow.

Website with downloads.

If you want to use more sites or just old blogs, try this..

It is very easy to move your blog or web page from one server to the other. Many people have said that they have had problems as they do not get the hits or comments that they expect. I started on blat and tried various names and Avatars, but only since changing to iblog have I had so many emails and comments. Even from my old pages with other providers.
How to save old pages.
First open a word document on Desktop and click new.  Then open the page to be copied in EDIT and click on HTML. Then click  SELECT ALL  and COPY , this can be done on the edit drop down menu or right click on the mouse. Once the page is copied is can be saved in a  word document in HTML.
How to move to new page.
To get this on a new page is quite easy, open the word document and click select all and copy. Then open Add New Post in HTML, click save and your page is ready. Just click Visual to see if your pictures are there and add your title.
This idea leaves your original page where it was and the pictures will still stay with the old page. Sometimes the page will take a little longer to show the pictures, but this has not been a problem.

Returned Emails.

Today there was another surprise so I thought that it could be aired at the beginning of this blog.  The first is that I like to thank people for visiting my blogs but have found this very disappointing.  Most of the emails I sent this morning and previous mornings have been returned as they could not be delivered.   Another problem is that a lot of people that send ” likes ” do not put their email address with their Gravatar.   I wish to thank all these people for their interest but am a bit confused.

A bit of a laugh..

Some of these you may have seen in some older blogs but never got any views. I am busy clearing out again, I do this when I`m too lazy or busy to get new material. 🙂

That was the dog having fun, he`s actually quite a pussy cat himself.

One of the biggest potholes in our new road.

Have you ever tried to find out how many hits you have on your blog?   There is a section called stats but that is just confusing to me.

whitewolf wordpress

If you click on the left hand side of the black bar it states that I am getting 5 hits every hour in the last 48 which would make 240 hits, but according to the same stats I only got 10 all day. 🙂  They also state  views and visits as different items, that seems strange as I thought you either got a hit (visit) or not. I think that ” Likes ” are classed as comments but to get 294 they must have added them together.

like pics

These are some of my better days according to the stats but my best are the ones below when people actually comment and give guidance.

Most of these friends have moved from site to site and kept in touch by email, which means a lot.  As far as blogging goes most of us do not use our real names as friendship on the digital highway can be fragile. It is very similar to the CB days of the 70`s when lots of people were surprised and sometimes disappointed when meeting the voice behind the handle (username).

On a lighter note I have found a few jokes……….

If you`ve been there you will understand.

I managed to recycle Alices roof to make this trough, a sort of remembrance garden I suppose.

This next one is to show how the ponies steal the bran that is put out for the chickens. They move it away with their noses but leave a trail of food of which the chickens eat.

I was watching this bird from the stoop thinking maybe it was a Sparrow Hawk when it decided to land on one of the trees at the far side of the dam. Looking through the photo`s I had taken this one came up on the screen. I enlarged it as big as possible but still thought it was a monkey.

Only when seeing the next picture on the screen and checking the tree did I realise it was the Hawk from a different position.

Looking around the side of my car and found the cat had been hunting. well she is keeping the rodents down. If you have animal feed you will have rats, so we have 4 cats also. 🙂

Taking a walk round the dam that I see from my stoop I see the usual suspects, except the mother Duck now has some youngsters.

The other birds seem to be too busy searching for food. they seem to be a cross between a Hadida and the White Ibis.

Today we were treated to a display of old biplanes. But they still landed faster than I could focus my camera. 🙂

On walking back from the flight path I noticed this footprint, it is the size of the palm of my hand. I found some spoor that was too large for Alice so I was wondering if this print was from one of the big baboons that I see in the area, what do you think?

Alice is still looking for a Hog, but hopes you all have a great weekend.

Today  has been a good day  for me as I spent quite a lot of time in the workshop finishing one of my model cannons.  The hot water cylinder has been dripping for a few days, but tonight it decided burst. Lucky it is outside the cottage as it sounded like a water fall as it splashed against the window sill.  Looking at it with a torch I think the heater element has come out or the thread has stripped. Well the water has stopped flowing after turning the feed tap off, so it`s a call to the plumber tomorrow.

hotwater cylinder

At least it didn`t do this. The Myth Busters did it by blocking the safety valve.

If you are into cellphone photo`s, this is a handy way to remember which numbers work  on which door.

Tabatha is another of my frequent visitors to the stoop. If I sit and read she gets on my lap, If I use my computer she sits on the laptop.

Of course R250 million for an upgrade will always be a joke.

We can always throw in a bit of toilet humour, these are not from my house. 🙂

cat fightI`ve heard of a cat fight but poor Bruno is really out matched, or was it a sucker punch.

Humour is for Life.

Have you ever felt so down in the dumps that you just can`t get excited about anything?  I find the only thing to do is find something you can smile about. This can be things around you or just situations you find yourself in.  I personally find the local news hilarious because anyone with half a brain can predict the outcome of the situation even when they are in the planning stage. Animals are one of the best things to study, although we do tend to humanise them.

Like this one could have a caption ” What a week this has been” never mind Friday is nearly here.

Then, ” I wonder if smoking will do this to me ” ?

Or ” I think i`ll go fishing down the road today”

Just take a walk and look around there is always something to see.

loading gravel

I saw this while waiting to go up the new road. It seemed rather comical filling the bucket of a front loader every 2 mtrs and then driving 100 mtrs to dump it in a lorry. but how are you going to employ 7 people otherwise.  Maybe they lost the handbook for the front loader ?

Then you could try to fathom out, how do I get this round a corner or through town?

drowning lol

Not so funny if it`s you that`s drowning. Although ” LOL ” now means  ” I have nothing to say”.

Did I use this last night or was it the hot curry ?

sunrise set

The beginning and close of the day.  I hope today your life is full of pleasant suprises, as mine is.
