It is very strange that the Eclipse of the moon was called the Red Moon. In the photos I took they came out red on the photos until the absolute eclipse and then even the cine camera would not record the light. When looking through binoculars the moon was just in black and white. I woke at 1 o`clock and the moon was just a round ball but the wind was blowing so hard that I had to tie the tripod to a garden chair to keep it still. here are a few of the still photos I took between 1 and 7 o`clock in my garden.

If you are using a laptop the screen should be tilted back for best results.

s5-8

I found that the zoom was too high on the first ones.

This was taken on the other side of the house at about 6:30 and it looks like the clouds are hiding some of the Moon. Unfortunately these are not as good as seeing the photos from the web but this is what we see in our gardens with standard cameras.

SIGN GERMANY

This was a traffic accident that was sent to me from Germany.

I had a WhatsApp from my Brother in the UK and it is basically summer there and it was raining most of the day. Here in SA we have had very little rain so the garden looks great. everything in the flower garden is still giving a good show of blooms. It is probably the most colorful it`s been for a long time.

The Veggie garden is also doing fine and has just had a few beds cleared. we have just harvested Leeks,Cabbage,Turnips.Beetroot and Sweet Potatoes. Most things are now in the sealing state although there are still a lot of Turnips, Leeks and herbs still on tap.

These are a few of the veggies from last summer which will soon be here. this year I have had to decrease the size of the Veggie garden as I couldn`t find enough friends and family to use them all.

The start of most of my blogs is the Sunrise the morning at the beginning of my day. some days however the sunrise is so uneventful that it isn`t worth showing.

Digital Image

Today`s Sunrise was not so colorful.

The garden is starting to get some new color now, this is a corner under a Peach tree. There are a lot of blossoms on it at the moment and the leaves come just before the hot sun.

Here is a line of code of which the answer is on the last blog.

This article below is from our local free paper the CX Times.

the 50s

Does anyone remember this blogger, he wrote some of the best satire under the user name Sarcasm.

wheelyboy

His name on iblog and Mweb was `Wheelyboy`.  I Have been trying to contact Roly for some time now but all his pages have been deleted and the email is no longer active. I feel maybe his illness has taken a turn for the worse. He was very sick and even a year ago he had to get someone else to answer my email as he was only reading them.

It`s funny but when you are no longer working the days don`t seem to change much. Today however a lot of new things occurred, firstly I finally found a free App to turn my smart phone into a GPS. This may be the answer to geocaching as it`s about R1500 for a standard hand held GPS.

GPS Phone

And the other day my kids got me into the 21st century by sorting out the WhatsApp, I can now keep in contact with all my friends and my brother in the UK. It`s a lot cheaper than texting everyone. The problem I found was that you have to log on to a WiFi and can`t just use your data to log on.The sunrise this morning was very disappointing as the mist was very heavy, it was supposed to be raining this morning, but who can believe the weather forecast.

The code that I put on Facebook which is below can now be cracked.

CODE 5X15

long code

I`ve since decided that the next one is good enough for using on Geocache as my Daughter and I have started hiding caches.

A Cache in Plett.

It seems like this one isn`t going to be published as it needs some maintenance. Anyway if the code gets solved just treat it as an excersize  in code breaking. I put it on Facebook because it very rarely gets looked at. If you look up you will see this Palm Fruit.

pinefruit

Walk up from the Dolphin Circle at the end of the Main Street.Walk up the hill past the Post Office towards the Police Station. When you reach the entrance look across the road and you will see a brown covered gate with a skull on top of each post.To you right is a Palm tree, walk passed it and look up. The cache is retrievable by standing on the rocks and reaching into the cacti trough on the white wall.

doglips

It`s not only owners that get to look like their animals, this dog is not allowed to watch the wife dress.
