I have found out in a very short time from friends that Facebook is not the place to put a blog. the main thing is that people don`t read them as they are probably to hard to find unless you have 100 friends. Also when asking family members they tell me that it`s mostly getting as many likes and friends as you can, that is the status.I found it difficult as things always seemed to pop up in the wrong place. They tell me it`s just old age and it`s really for youngsters to brag on how good their life is, even if it`s only in cyber space ๐Ÿ˜‰ย  I find it useful for finding companies as most of them have a page.

There was another march on the police station today, with it`s Brass Band which could be heard from the other end of Town.

the Cougel was back again today, I think it`s a youngster as it`s a bit smaller that the last pair. Latter today they cut the hedge below the wall so we may get less birds now.

I still like to put the sunrise on the blog while I still can, as we may be forced to leave soon if the place is sold by the owner.

If you are a cat lover do you have one of these on your wall ?

micro flowers

I still haven`t found out what this plant is. the flowers are bellow and are very similar to lavender. i have some more coming up now at the back of the plant bed and they look like weeds.

That`s one way to take the family out, and save fuel. I think even our trafic cops would notice a bit of overloading on this bike. I hope it`s not a 50cc or he will need a push start.

Definitely Summer is on it`s way and the days are getting hotter from sunrise onward. The Sunrise is so early now that I sometimes don`t get up in time.

By 6 it`s already quite high in the sky. Lucky there were some clouds on the horizon or it would be like the one below.

I have planted a few Sunflowers in the garden to try and stop the birds from pecking my tomatoes. It seems to be working as the early ones are developing seeds. I never realized how tall they grow as I used a packet of old bird seed. Some are short like edging plants and some are over 2 meters high. It is getting so hot now that watering is sometimes a daily thing. This may be because the garden has a wall around it and brick paving instead of grass.

The long and the short of it.

On going back to the kitchen the washing machine was being loaded and this Rain Spider had to be extracted from a woolly jersey and put back in the garden. We have a lot of these come into the house most of the year. Pray Mantis are another co-inhabitant of the house but they do clear out the unwanted pests.

When I was in the UK last year I noticed that there are a lot of nuts that you can gather whilst taking the dog for a walk around the block.

In case you do not see my blogs between now and Christmasโ€ฆI wish everybody a very Merry Christmas and Seasons Greetings to everyone else. Leo.

Sometimes we get lazy days when nothing seems to spur the imagination to write a long blog. today is one of those days. The sunrises have been more like black and white photo`s for the last couple of days. The sunset last night was not very impressive to start with but I waited until the birds flew home.

sunset0608……………This was what it looked like ten minutes earlier.

At least the garden has been producing veggies for the evening meal. We have Swiss Chard, Leeks, Garlic, turnips, beetroot, broccoli, cauliflower,Broad beans and all the herbs growing. It will soon be time at the end of this month to sow the summer Veggies. It has been a very pleasant experience as looking in the supermarkets the veg is very much to be desired.

crow vegThe only other thing that got photographed this morning was a Pied Crow calling from the top of the Police radio mast across the road. it must have been a call for them to hoist the flags because it went away afterwards.

649_1077414210787_9765_nI`m still experimenting with different solar ovens. this one made bread in a baking tin, but it was a bit of a problem getting it out. It also took 2 hours.ย  ๐Ÿ™‚

649_1077414330790_468_nthis one makes a good focus but took 15 minutes to get the water hot enough to make a cup of coffee, lucky I don`t take milk. ๐Ÿ™‚

Today is a hot day for gardening, I had to spray all my seedlings early this morning as the rain looks like it wont come any time soon. I find it quite exciting to be back at the flat with it`s own private garden. it has been a hard 8 weeks but all the hardware is done now and most of the winter veg and flowers are on their way. with the price and quality of veggies at the local supermarkets I am looking forward to some home grown veg.

i love Broad beans but a lot of people do not double peel the skins off and find them unpleasant. the tomatoes seem to have self seeded and I hope they ripen. i got seedlings for 3 types of lettuce and they seem to be growing well. the other winter vegetables are good for soups like, cauliflower, broccoli, leeks and turnips. There is giant Swiss Chard which is a good substitute for Spinach and beetroot which goes nicely with many meals . All the herbs cam be grown in pots and the excess put in the garden latter as they are also ornamental.

Some Jokes for the Day.
