Today was quite eventful as far as the sky goes. I viewed 3 satellites between 05.00 and 06.10. The first one went from west to east while looking in a northerly direction. I saw the same one a few nights ago on the same path at 18.30. The other two were strange as I was looking at the Southern Cross when a bright one like I saw earlier was going in the same direction but being followed by a fainter light which disappeared before the bright one as it approached the horizon.
As the sun rose the birds started to fly past.
The sun was rather bright when i took this and the male, unlike the female I caught in flight didn`t oblige me. For the bird in flight, see the earlier blog.
Too cold here in the Cape to be out looking heavenwards before sun-up!
It`s very interesting up in the sky before sunrise, but then I have a lot of time, and can`t sleep as long as I used to.It`s still quite warm here for the time of the year.
oh wow – such beautiful pictures. You’re going to make me get up at God only knows what time to see a sunrise soon. That’s way early for this little piggy 🙂 Oink – XOXO Bacon
And I thought little piggies got up at first light. 🙂 Alice used to wake me at first light for breakfast.
